Got Beach

Key West is a city located in the state of Florida, which has a population of 25,000 people and it’s located on the island with the same name. Their claim is that this is the only town from the lower states that never experienced frost. The climate of the city of Key West is tropical and mild and it’s perfect for anyone that loves going to the beach. This is also a seaport, that gets many cruise ships visiting during the entire year.

There are a number of beaches in Key West that you can visit, though not as many as you would expect, since this is a coral island. The reefs are currently located a couple of miles away from the shore, so there aren’t many waves. Since the waves aren’t there, the beaches are quite rare here. Still, there are beaches in Key West and they are of very good quality, so you definitely have a chance to enjoy your time here.

If you want to swim, snorkel or do some sunbathing, you can definitely do that here. Just remember that there are no lifeguards on the beaches, so if you decide to go swimming you’re doing it on your own risk. You are not allowed to do any nude or topless bathing. You can go fishing on the piers of the beaches, as long as you respect the fishing license requirements.

The main beaches you can find in the Key West area are Fort Zachary Taylor, Higg’s Beach, Smathers Beach, South Beach, Bahia Honda Beach and Dry Tortugas Beach. If you’re looking for a nice beach, with restroom facilities, you should pick between Fort Taylor, Higg’s Beach, Smathers Beach or Rest Beach. Most of them also have picnic tables and a few other features. If you want to go fishing, your best bet is probably Rest Beach and its White Street Pier.

If you want to go eating to a nice restaurant after enjoying your stay at the beach, you have a couple of quality choices, including Square One, Nine One Fixe and Seven Fish. These three restaurants are the options to go for if you want to splurge.

In your spare time, you can visit a number of interesting places in the area, like the Key West Preserve or the National Park of Dry Tortugas. If you want to have a nice time, you can go with Restless Native Charters, a company that offers luxury catamarans, which you can use for parties, sunset sails, dives and wedding proposals. If you just want to relax, you might want to go fishing with one of the local companies, on one of their boats, either as a group charter or as a private fishing trip.
